BABYLUTION Progression of symbols

The Babylution (#jmbg protests) started on June 5, 2013 with a Facebook post from a distraught mother in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her three month old baby, Belmina, urgently needed a stem cell transplant abroad. But since the national law on ID numbers (Unique Master Citizen Number) had not yet been adopted after the old law’s expiration in February, newborns were no longer being issued with the ID numbers required to obtain a passport and health insurance. This is a visual story of how the Bosnian people accepted Babylution name and symbolism, accidentally created by me. I've shared this idea over social networks and for only one night it has become a national symbol of Bosnian "Baby revolution" resistance. With this practical example I want to show how important it is for designers and creatives to respond with their ideas in real time, without the influence of perfectionism.
